About Our Doctors

Our practice history began in 1965, when Dr. D.O. Baxter and Mrs. Dorothy Baxter, R.D.H. opened a family dental practice on North Broad Street in Winder, Georgia.  In 1983, daughter Dee joined the practice as a dental hygienist. Dr. D.O. Baxter and Mrs. Baxter retired from dentistry in 1988, while daughter Julie continued the practice following dental school. Youngest son Doug Baxter joined the family practice following graduation from dental school four years later.

Dr. Julie Marshall and Dr. Doug Baxter continue to provide comprehensive dental care to their patients, and are honored to carry on in their father’s footsteps serving the dental health needs of families from Winder, Auburn, Carl, Braselton and surrounding Barrow County communities.

JULIE B. MARSHALL, D.M.D.

Dr. Marshall graduated from the Medical College of Georgia with a degree in dental medicine in 1988. Dr. Marshall continually furthers her education in cosmetic and restorative dentistry through professional memberships in the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry.

DOUGLAS P. BAXTER, D.M.D.

Dr. Baxter graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in dental medicine in 1992. He also pursues ongoing education and training in cosmetic and restorative dentistry through professional memberships in the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry.
